Notice of Proposed Settlement in CPRI Class Action

We are pleased to advise that the Government of Ontario has agreed to a proposed settlement of this class action. A copy of the proposed Settlement Agreement can be viewed here.

The Class covered by this proposed Settlement Agreement includes all persons, who were alive as of February 22, 2014, who were inpatients of and resided at CPRI during the time period from September 1, 1963 to July 1, 2011, exclusive of any time for which an individual was an inpatient and resided in the Glenhurst or Pratten 1 units). The Class excludes any person who validly opted out.

Please note that this settlement is conditional on the approval of the court. The court hearing to determine if the proposed settlement is fair, reasonable, and in the best interests of the class members is scheduled for June 23, 2021 and will be held virtually. Information about how to attend the settlement approval hearing will be shared on a later date.
