Nursing
Our Nursing program is dedicated to providing comprehensive and culturally sensitive care to Indigenous families. We understand the unique needs and challenges faced by our community, and our program is designed to support mothers and families through every stage of pregnancy and beyond.
Our Nurses work 1:1 with families and can provide the following:
Pre-Natal Care
- Education and Support: Offering workshops and one-on-one sessions on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.
- Emotional Support: Providing counseling and support groups to help expectant mothers navigate the emotional aspects of pregnancy.
- Substance Use: Raising awareness of the effects of substance use and exposure during pregnancy.
Post-Natal Care
- Home Visits: Regular visits by our nursing staff to ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby.
- Breastfeeding Support: Offering guidance and support for breastfeeding mothers to ensure successful feeding practices.
- Infant Care Education: Teaching new parents essential skills for caring for their newborn, including bathing, feeding, and sleep routines.
- Safe Sleep: Providing resources and support for the entire family to ensure baby is safe during sleep.
We believe in the power of community and the importance of nurturing the next generation. Our Nursing Program is here to support you every step of the way, ensuring that you and your family receive the care and support you deserve.
